Fall CSA Shares available!!

Mary's Kitchen and Gardens will be offering a Fall CSA Share this year!! This is a great opportunity to try out a CSA and see if it is a good fit for you. Or this is a way to get great chemical-free, pesticide-free, produce later in the season if your CSA is ending.
You will receive a great variety of fresh picked produce including: Winter Squashes, Potatoes, Lettuce, Arugula, Kale, Most likely Tomatoes, Melons and Green Beans as well. Carrots, Onions, Brussel Sprouts, ...Pumpkins and Ornamentals, Beets and Turnips.

The four week share will begin the week of October 5th and end the week of October 26th. The cost will be $100.00 so the weekly value will be $25.00. You will have the option of picking up your share at our weekly Farmers Markets. Home delivery will be available for a total of $20.00 for the 4 weeks. Weekly Payment will also be accepted.
Please let us know if you are interested and share with anyone you feel may be interested in trying a few weeks of a CSA to find out if it is a fit for them. We just finished picking, cleaning, and organizing for Market in the Morning. I will be at Landscape Garden Center on South Minnesota Avenue from 9-2. Lee will be at The Prairie Farmers Market at Cherapa Place from 8-2!! We will have Rhubarb, Red Norland and Yukon Gold Potatoes, Onions, Carrots, Green and Purple Beans, Zucchini, Jalapeno, Banana and Green Bell Peppers. White Eggplant, green Cabbage, Broccoli, Cucumbers ( lots of them!!) Cherry Tomatoes and a few slicing Tomatoes, Lettuce, Turnips and Beets. Lee will have Farm Fresh Eggs available ( a limited amount)

July 4th market at Cherapa Place 8-2!!

Dill Pickles, Pickled Beets and Mulberry Jam is ready!! We have been really busy this week planting, harvesting, canning, baking, weeding, and getting ready for market in the morning at The Prairie Farmers Market at Cherapa Place just off 6th and Minnesota 8-2!! We will have Potatoes, Green and Purple Beans (yah!) Kohlrabi, Carrots, Beets, Turnips, a couple of gigantic Rutabagas, Romaine Lettuce, Kale, Mustard Greens, Collard Greens, Swiss Chard, Yellow and Green Snow Peas. A really nice assortment of fresh, chemical free veggies for your holiday weekend! I baked Zucchini, Banana, Pistachio and Chocolate bread. We also have an assortment of Jams available. Dilly Beans and Salsa will be coming soon! Have a great 4th of July and hope you have a bit of time in the morning to stop down to Cherapa Place!!

Enter from 6th as we have moved to the north section of the parking lot ( we outgrew the other part of the lot we were in) I will also be at Beresford from 3-7 in front of Blooms N Lattes!! We will have some fresh Romaine and Spring Mix Lettuce, Kale, Collard Greens, Snow Peas ( Yellow and Green) Green Onions, Radishes, Turnips, Swiss Chard, Zucchini and Kohlrabi. The Cucumbers are flowering and I have some nice sized Tomatoes in the tunnel. Hopefully they will both be ready soon. CSA pickup at both locations. A really long but productive day!! I will be at The Prairie Farmers Market at Cherapa Place in the morning from 8-1!! We will have entertainment and food truck coming so should be a great day!! We will have fresh Lettuce, Romaine, Kale ( 2 kinds), Collard Greens, Radishes, Green Onions, Turnips and Farm Fresh Eggs. Fresh Baked Banana, Zucchini, and Lots O Chocolate bread along with Jams and Salsa. We will have a lot of Snow Peas again next weekend and the Cucumbers are starting to grow. Sioux Falls Made Market May 1st Mark your calendar!

I found out today that I was again invited to be a vendor at the Sioux Falls Made event on May 1st !! Had a great time in December and looking forward to the Spring event.. The Argus Leader sponsored the event and had a great turnout. Mark your calendars as you won't want to miss seeing the homemade items from some really talented people In the area. Further information to come!! I wish this wind would settle down we are trying to get the plastic on Tunnel #2

Ist Annual Spring Fling Event Saturday 10-4 Hilton Garden Inn!!

We will be at the 1st Annual Spring Fling Event tomorrow (Saturday) from 1 Location is the Hilton Garden Inn on South Louise Avenue
10-4!! This is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. You can check out the facebook page for the event and see all the really neat vendors that will be attending, a lot of homemade items you will want to see!!
We will be bringing an assortment of canned goods: Dill Pickles, Pickled Beets, Salsa, Pickled Banana Peppers. Jams and Jellies: ...Strawberry-Rhubarb, Cherry-Rhubarb, Jalapeno, Apple Butter, Pear Preserves, Mango-Lime, Blueberry, and Huckleberry. Also bringing some Homemade Pasta Sauce: Great on your favorite Pasta, Add meat and other veggies. I also use it for Pizza Sauce and it tastes great!! For Baked Goods: I am bringing breads: Banana, Chocolate, and Huckleberry (This a new recipe and almost turned out like a coffee cake and very tasty) Apple Pie Bars and Texas Brownies. Another new recipe we tried out: Cinnamon Swirl Raisin Bread, another good recipe. Hope to see you tomorrow. Please spread the word about this fundraiser.
